Elite Balustrade Systems Ltd move to their new home to the village of Whalley in the heart of Lancashire beautiful Ribble Valley.

We are pleased to announce that Elite Balustrade Systems have successfully moved to a brand new home just outside the village of Whalley based in the heart of rural Lancashire’s Ribble Valley. With a new showroom, offices and manufacturing space, the brand new building at Unit 23 Mitton Road Business Park is a perfect location for the business. Showcasing our Elite Outdoor Living range of innovative decking solutions and our bespoke range of frameless glass balustrade systems.

Whalley is a lively community, with a colourful rich historical history. Thought to be orginally a Roman outpost for the local Roman town Ribchester, Whalley built a church on the location of the outpost in the Eighth Century known as the White Church, followed by a Norman Church in the 1100’s. This was a major area of importance which covered an area of 45 townships that now includes parts Blackburn, Clitheroe, Haslingden, Accrington and Colne. In 1296 the Cistercian monks of Stanlow Abbey in Cheshire founded and built Whalley Abbey, the second largest monastic institution in the country. During the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII, the Abbott Paslew was hung, drawn and quartered. The abbey can still be seen today but as ruins alongside the River Calder and the Abbey Conference Centre & Retreat.

The business is just located up the road from the village’s railway station which has direct links to Manchester. The arrival of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway to Whalley in the 1900’s led to a revival of the area with increased prosperity and people to the area. The famous viaduct is a 48 arch span railway bridge crossing over the River Calder and a major landmark in the area.

The brand of Elite Balustrade has a history on the site of the former railway sidings in Whalley over 10 years ago, when the a former business developed the brand before it’s move to Blackburn in 2015. Earlier this year in 2019 Elite Balustrade Systems Ltd. was formed bringing the brands of Elite Balustrade and Elite Outdoor Living under the new business ownership along with plans to move to its spiritual home of Whalley.

As of the 1st November Elite Balustrade Systems are trading from their new Head Office in the newly created Mitton Road Business Park. The business park is home to a number of new innovative businesses including; a Japanese furniture manufacturer, Edible printing company, hand made gentlemen shoes, industrial drier manufacture, flooring supplies, damp proofing & rendering business, web development agency, suppliers of  protective coating treatment and car brokerage & enhancement specialists. Over the next couple of years we will joined by more industrial units and office spaces and will be welcoming new neighbours and flourishing businesses to the trading estate.

It also boasts a very popular night life through a great selection of public houses, wine bars and cocktail bars. Visit the abbey ruins, the conference centre and the Café Autisan (run by a autism charity). Further afield a visit to the Roman ruins in Ribchester are worth a trip and only a 10 minute ride away. Even closer is Stonyhurst College in Hurst Green a Grade I listed building founded in 1593. This is famous for its past students that include three saints, twelve Beati, seven archbishops, seven Victoria Cross winners, a president, a prime minister, a signatory of American independence, several writers, sportsmen and politicians. It even served as an inspirational location to create the mythical lands deplicited in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
