This week we have made use of our new edge mounted mini post brackets to design a frameless glass balustrade solution for a balcony.
The customer required a balcony solution outside bi-folding doors. They had their heart set on a frameless design and thanks to our ever-growing product portfolio we were able to design just that. We made use of our newly introduced edge mounted mini post brackets to create a straight run at the front of the balcony. Because of the restricted access to the sides of the area we had to be creative with what we could achieve: our design team was able to create two bespoke size glass panels, one for each side held in place by a glass clamp in each corner secured back to the property and the timber posts.
The front of the balcony has been designed using a 12mm clear toughened glass held in place by the side mounted mini post brackets which are manufactured from duplex stainless steel grade 2205 with superior corrosion resistance for outdoor use. The rectangular mini rail running over the top of the glass will provide a complete look to the balcony and the feel of security for the client was looking for. All the stainless steel components will be finished in satin polished providing consistency in the design. The side panels have been specified at 10mm clear toughened glass, all at the minimum required height of 1.1m by UK Building Regulations and Standards.
We enjoy working with all our customers, taking the time to listen to exactly what they are trying to achieve and doing our very best in turning their plans into a finished project. Because we handle everything in-house from the initial enquiry right through to installation and aftercare, we can utilise our systems to their best abilities and advantages: instead of suppling standard balustrade kits, we transform our systems to fit your requirements.
The frameless mini post glass balustrade system is a stylish and modern balustrade available in three profiles: base mounted, core mounted or side mounted. The system can be installed over concrete, steel, engineered timber or our own qwickbuild decking frame, providing us with flexibility when creating outdoor living solutions.
