A FRAMELESS GLASS BALUSTRADE FOR A PATIO AREA

This week we have been creative designing a frameless glass balustrade solution for an existing large patio area outside bi-folding doors.

The customer requirements were to create a safe outdoor living space outside their large bi-folding doors which would lead down to their spacious garden with a number of steps. With the patio area already in place we were able to carry out a site visit and understand more about the project and which glass railing system would suit the project best.

The customer wanted to be able to create a private area within their existing patio but without obscuring the stunning views ahead whilst using the space or from inside the home. However they liked the idea of incorporating a handrail running over the top of the glass panels for extra peace of mind.

In this instance our base mounted glazing channel was the perfect solution to secure the glass balustrade to the patio area, creating a continuous look with each glass panel and including a minimal design of a stainless steel slotted handrail.

The area was split into two parts with the steps in between. Each section was a total of three metres and we designed three equally sized glass panels to fit each section, for a clean and tidy look and feel utilising 15mm clear toughened glass. Our glazing channel system is perfect for use outdoors, manufactured in-house from heavy duty extruded aluminium and available as a side mounted or base mounted profile to suit a variety of installations.

Working closely with the customer and having visual images of the project area, we were able to design high quality drawings which help both our team in understanding how well the chosen bespoke glass balustrade system would interact with the rest of the property and surrounding area and also the customer in visualising exactly what they are buying. When investing into your property you want full peace of mind that you are dealing with experts in the field and want to trust those 100% with your project, making home improvements a fun and easy experience.
